Well, it finally happened.

Due to the number of age verification mandates being put into place throughout the United States, I have made the difficult decision to move Familiar to a third-party comics library.

It was always my intention to keep Familiar on its own dedicated website, but unfortunately, the number of state-level age verification laws going into effect have made this no longer tenable. These mandates require owners of websites with more than one-third of qualifying content to verify the age of their visitors via expensive, invasive, and unreliable commercial age verification services. I cannot afford to hire a commercial age verification service, and I also do not wish to endanger the privacy or security of my visitors by requiring them to upload their government IDs or “transactional data.” So, until future notice, I have relocated the comic to Drunk Duck/The Duck Webcomics. DD has a long history of championing indie comics, as well as supporting adult content creators in the wake of the many bans and website content policy changes.

You will need to make a free account to read the comic, but it remains free and uncensored, and the account creation process is minimal. Note that you do not need to enter the geographic data to register.

If you are not ready to make a user account in order to try Familiar, I have also loaded the first seven plot chapters to Flowfo. You do not need to sign up to read these chapters, so this is a good option if you want to try Familiar without the commitment of signing up somewhere.
